Hi everyone
I have the hearing for my tribunal next week to try and show that my endometriosis prevents me from being able to carry out daily activities. Has anyone done this before? I would be grateful for any advice or help.

Hi i hope you are okay. Do you have to attend the tribunal? Im asking because of covid, I'm not sure if tribunals are taking place right now. Just make it clear that you can't do anything on a daily basis. You have to have help with everyday duties i.e getting dressed, having a bath or shower, cleaning, someone does your shopping and cooking. Tell them that you suffer every day with pain, exhaustion. If you have to attend the tribunal is there someone who can go with you? Do you use walking aids such as a walking stick? Tell them after a few minutes of walking you have to stop due to pain and exhaustion but tell them you rarely go out because the pain is so severe. Take any medical evidence with you. If you are on any medication make sure you have proof of what you take. I hope it goes in your favour. Good luck my lovely 🤞🤞🍀🍀💛💛
Hi Angiecxx
Its an online hearing that I have to attend. Thanks for your advice, i will make sure I do all those things. It says that it could last 90mins and I know I won't be able to sit for that long anyway/will need the toilet several times.
Xx
If you need the loo ask for time out. It's little things like that that will all go in your favour. Mine was done over the phone and I won.
Don't hold back on anything, no matter how small you think it might be or graphic.
Good luck
Have you got someone to be with you when you have your tribunal? If so make sure that it's heard that you are asking for help to the loo and take your time. It doesn't matter how many times you need to go. 💛
Hi I put a claim in recently and they messaged saying they are looking into and it’s been about 8 weeks I haven’t heard anything, just wondering how long you waited to hear back? x
Hi Aurora 20
What stage are you at? I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but it is over a year since I first claimed.
I started the processed in March 2020 had my assessment in july 2020 I think. Rejected in August, appealed, rejected again in October. Appealed for a tribunal in November and my tribunal date is at the start of April 2021.
I really hope you have more luck than I did.
Xx
Oh dear I’m right at the beginning 😂 I called them early jan and then got a text 5th of feb saying they have received my claim and if they need to contact for more information they will. Haven’t heard anything since. I’m sorry you had to go through all of that I hope they accept it this time for you! They can be such a pain sometimes xx
Thanks if I get approved then it will be totally worth it, just such a slog to get there. Unfortunately I think you just have wait now sorry! In Jan this yeah I applied for Universal Credit and it was so quick and so much easier that I was approved in like 2 months, so I would recommend that if you haven't already x
Hi check out you tube there are some useful videos about clamming and appealing pip. Also contact citizens advice . All free but invaluable and essential. Have someone with you. You need to be aware of everything you say and do from the moment you enter the premises. It all has to back up what you say. So being dressed up in full make up will not help you. Frequently get up if you can’t sit for long. Ask for a break if you need it. Get a doctors supporting letter if you haven’t already. You have to show you have daily help with personal care (washing, dressing, taking meds, eating etc) cooking , cleaning,. Dont try to make it sound better than it is. If you think they are out to disbelieve and fail you this can help. They watch you at reception and the corridors. How you open doors etc. Pm me if it helps. Good luck 🤞
Hi. Be aware of the background that they can see. Do have someone with you. Remember the microphone will be on even when you go to the toilet. Have your paperwork trial pack within easy reach. There is a guy who has done videos on YouTube that tell you what to expect based on his experiences. Its really helpful. There may be others too. If someone is with you they can make notes off camera. The trial is independent. You will have a judge, a medical professional such as a doctor and a disabled person or someone who represents the disability side of things. They can be harsh. Remember they are not your friends. If you have someone with you they can help you go to the toilet like get out of chair etc. It depends on what you are claiming you have difficulties with. If you contact cab they can help you with the descriptors that apply to you. They can tell you what you need to get the benefits ie number of points and which areas. That’s what they can do with esa but not sure how different pip is. Contact cab ASAP and check out their website they have fact sheets that can help. Google how to succeed at a pip trial, hearing. Xx
Hi. I was in a similar situation and joined Benefits and Work forum , which is a a forum that helps people manage their applications on PIP,ESA and other benefits.
They have invaluable resources that help in any situation.
There is a fee of £19.99 but I can assure you it's worth every penny.
