I made an application and was told I couldn’t get it as even though they accept I unable to do several day to day tasks due to my symptoms, as I essentially have no diagnosed conditions with my arms and legs I’m ineligible for it

Hi, that is not true! You definitely do not need to have a leg or arm condition to be eligible. If your condition/s cause you significant difficulty with the listed activities at least half of the time then you are eligible. Have a look at benefitsandwork.co.uk, there is lots of guidance on there about applying, and appealing the decision. There is also a PIP calculator so you can work out how many points you should have been given. I would put in for a mandatory reconsideration if you are sure you should have received more points x
I'm not surprised, I get PIP, at my first ever assessment, and my reassessments I have had the reports through and they've been full of lies and trying to worm out of awarding me. I have had to go to appeal for the last time, luckily DWP changed their mind before getting to court, I think they knew I'd win! Honestly, check out that website, use the guides and either put in a mandatory reconsideration or start a whole new claim. You can get help from Citizens advice bureau aswell to help you fill in the forms, they can usually accompany you during assessment if you need it. There is no charge. Other organisations can do the same thing but may charge a small fee. Don't give up!
Endo alone will not get you PIP. Co-morbid conditions like bowel and bladder incontinence, anxiety and depression got me mine. Disability Direct Derby give them a call and book in to speak to Alison )or Rob).
I successfully got mine awarded first time and my friend did an appeal and got hers.
You can appeal and get it but it’s the way they word questions and how you give answers that count.
I also went through PIP process recently and was given 0 points, despite being unable to walk far and bring mostly housebound.
I found that the assessor has their own answers already in their mind, was told "Oh my sister had Endo, shes okay." and when trying to answer questions about what I struggle to do in the house she decided that as I have a bath in my house I can use it. I struggle to bend so I cannot, and often need help in and out the shower from Hubby.
How can they assess my ability to look after myself over the phone?
I wish others well fighting for this allowance, but for all the effort it took to arrange an assessment for myself it was a huge disapointment. Yet another service who do not understand Endometriosis.
