Has anyone noticed symptoms worse after having a lap operation? I had mine in December and my symptoms have been so much more worse! To the point I’m even being woke up during the night with stomach pains and the constant heavy pelvic feeling, my bleeding however has loosened, I’m on cocodamol everyday and transaxemic to lessen the bleeding. I feel like I can’t cope! I’m down for having the mareva coil in a couple of weeks and I’m using a tens machine trying to help! does anyone have any advice??? I’m beginning to feel like giving up I work as a mechanic so my job isn’t helping either but it’s took nearly 12 years to get this job ( not relevant to endo)! Please help xx

Hi, I am also experiencing worsened pain after a laparoscopy in November. I had a follow up where the consultant said it couldn’t be endo any longer because he had removed it all, so I took people’s advice on here and got a private second opinion. They were also a bit sceptical but are referring me to their NHS clinic for pain management in the first instance. Sorry I don’t have anything to recommend on the pain front x
Don’t be sorry thanks for replying! I’m not convinced it’s all gone tbh! But what can you do they told me as soon as you bleed it starts to grow back and I’d literally been bleeding heavy until the last few days xx
Hiiii! Thanks for the reply! How did you go about seeing an endo specialist there’s definitely something not right with me! It’s gradually getting worse I’ve even been burning whilst peeing ( TMI sorry ) but constantly needing to pee even if I barely drink! It’s driving me mad! Xx
Hi I told my GP I needed to see a endometriosis specialist and he referred me to see one after a bit of back and forth conversations with him as he said I had a lap so I can't have it back so soon, I saw the endo specialist and he was absolutely brilliant, but if you don't get referred by your GP you could pay for a consultation with one then they will put you back on the NHS list but on their books, they even give you a number for specialist nurses to talk if you need to, it's around 150/200 my friend did it that way, the specialist told me he thinks my overies are stuck so he's sending me for a scan to look at them then he's booking me in for a hysterectomy it was so reassuring seeing a specialist unlike seeing general gynes they didn't do much for me really and I saw 4/5 before the first lap hope you get sorted out soon keep fighting for yourself ❤️ xx
Hi there. I got my surgery done in the USA and my surgeon was excellent. Did you get an exploratory lap or did they excuse endo? It’s very normal for it to be worse for the first 3-4 months after. My doctor gave me a little metaphor to help me understand. Imagine if you lost a fingernail, how the skin underneath would feel. It would need time to harden and get used to the new environment, which would take time. That’s similar to the parts of your body that have previously had endo on them. Not only are they healing, but they are now raw and exposed to the environment around them when they weren’t before.
For me, it took 4 months before I started to feel better, and now I haven’t even had to take so much as a Tylenol in 6 months!
Although just t one clear, the burning while urinating definitely sounds like an infection. Maybe get that checked out? Unless you had endo on the bladder and that was normal before?
I had endo on my bowels and I remember going poop after surgery hurt like crazy, like sharp knives in my bowels. But this only lasted for the first 3 weeks and then started to ease.
Thanks for the reply, they said I had endo growing on the back of my womb that’s where it was taken from yeh I’ve been living on cranberry juice to try and help it but it’s so horrible! Xxx
Hi I also had a laparoscopy in December and my symptoms are worse then before as I am getting pain constantly. I have had no relief at all. I am currently taking the progesterone only pill to prevent the endo from reoccurring but think this is making it worse and seems pointless now since it is clear the endo hasn’t even gone at all.
