Today I had my second TV scan in 3 years. In the last one they were unable to see my left ovary, in surgery it was concluded that this was due to it being stuck to my pelvic wall with an endometriosis adhesion. My laparoscopy was just over 2 years ago now and I had another scan after a flare up of symptoms recently. The technician was unable to see either of my ovaries! She said it’s nothing too concerning but for my age and weight, she was surprised that they weren’t visible. I really don’t want another surgery and I don’t plan on having children, but has anyone else has this issue?

Hi hanmar2013My daughter's left ovary couldn't be seen at 2 ultrasounds. It showed up on an MRI - apparently it was too deep within her pelvic cavity to see via a USS. Apparently this is not uncommon. If you're worried perhaps ask for a pelvic MRI
Hi yes they’ve struggled on me. I’ve had a cyst removed on my right ovary. Last scan they could see it really. I have a retroverted uterus too, so I cause them issues every time! They always have to do internal scans on me. Maybe try at a different time in you cycle?
I've had 3 TV scans and they couldn't find my left ovary on any of them. The only way they found it was through MRI scan and it was up by my stomach!!! Aside from the fact it's got a 6cm cyst on it, they weren't too concerned about it not being visible and didn't mention anything about my age or weight (I'm 29 and average) odd!
