Diagnosis or not diagnosis?

I had the following picked up on an MRI, DIE (deep infiltrating endometriosis) part of which is on my bowel, an endometrioma on my left ovary (5cm) and a uterine polyp. I am currently waiting to see an Endo specialist (have appointment on 17 March). In my letter of referral to her it was mentioned that “it appears from MRI that she has deep infiltrating endometriosis” does this mean that it has been diagnosed or will I have to have a lap to diagnose it officially?

I would take that as a diagnosis X

They’ll be pretty sure, but will confirm with lap or try other treatments. The first gynae I saw was sure and that was just based on history and symptoms. Confirmed with lap.

It can only be suspected then diagnosis follows pathology report once it’s been removed! Xx

It's suspected until its confirmed by laproscopy. But normally until you have a lap it's mainly based on symptoms.

I had a lap, lab said it wasn't endo but my endo specialist said it looks like endo. He was sure. The lab sometimes get it wrong when we have taken the pill for a long time.

It's a good enough diagnosis for the moment until they have a look (which is the gold standard).

I was diagnosed through an MRI too, I have the same stage 4 deep infiltrating Endo on my bowel. I’ve never had a lap as my symptoms are under control but I have 6 monthly checks ups with my specialist x
