Hello lovelies!
If you have deep infiltrating endometriosis, does it usually appear on the MRI or it's not necessary? (I mean will it show how deep it is in the body tissues)
Thank you in advance xxx 💛

Hey- it will not show how deep it is but more how large and area it is on.
Hi,
I see, because my gynae told me at first she's suspecting DIE, but after seeing the MRI she said the screening shows no deep endo. Well I hope that, but I'm worried when I have my lap, they would find more than what they've expected.

Mine showed die through mri and nothing from vaginal ultrasound, and how far it had attached and penetrated certain parts of pelvis,I got all measurements in mm and exactly how deep it had attached, hope this helps x
It was the opposite with me. Looks like it differs from one woman to another.
Thanks for your reply Shell xx
Hi. I have it too along with endo and diverticulitis. I had to have lap surgery to see the extent of it as it did not show fully on scans. I had 2 ovarian masses drained at the same time and it took them nearly 3-hours to fully explore how much the bowels were affected. My bowel, ovaries and womb are fused together too. It is very painful and I bleed from my rectum during my period when I go to the toilet. I saw the general surgeon last week who explained that what they do during surgery if you go for it is peel the bowel back from the tissue. It takes 3-5 hours in surgery apparently. I will have a hysterectomy at the same time. The surgeon said in 10 years of doing this he only had to take out a small part of the bowels twice so pretty good results. I think everyone is slightly different. I would say if they offer a lap it is not too bad to recover from and gives everyone a clear idea of what is going on in there and gives you some reassurance and peace. I hope that helps x
