Hey guys! I had an abdominal ultrasound yesterday to check on my coil and they asked to do a vaginal scan, I tried but I couldn’t tolerate it, is anyone with endometriosis in the same boat? I feel so pathetic, I just get so scared 😢

Hi, yes I always dread them!! And they are always painful for me too. I do think sometimes I am making worse by tensing as I know what’s to come. All I would say is take a deep breath before you start try and think of something else and honestly it’s over so quickly especially when they know it’s painful for you they take it out quick. Hope this helps x

I think that’s part of problem when we mentally make it even worse for ourselves 🤦🏻‍♀️ Have you booked another appointment? x

I’m waiting to hear from my gynae because they found a cyst on my ovary so just waiting to see if they are gonna do anything or just monitor. We definitely do make it mentally bad for ourselves 🤦🏼‍♀️X

Thank you lovely xx

For me it’s painful most times and am reduced to tears but sometimes it also depends on who is doing it.

Some staff are very gentle and considerate which reduces the pain to a sharp discomfort while others just want to get in there and be done with it.

For your next appointment do take some strong painkillers an hour to the time you might tolerate it more.Ild be thinking about you and you going on my list tonight.

As soon as the pain started I just couldn’t cope 😢 yeah I’ll defo have to take strong painkillers before next time! I didn’t have any that day which was a stupid idea!! Aw bless you, Thankyou lovely🥰xx

It wasn’t stupid not to take you couldn’t have known it would hurt.Talk to your gp and you would get prescription strength painkillers.Plus initially when you clench yourself in fear as the probe is going on the pelvic tend to stiffen and it would hurt more.
