GnRH Injections

Hi! I'm currently being investigated for endo and my gynae wants me to try GnRH analogues (prostap or zolaplex) to treat some bowel growths she thinks I have. I was wondering if anyone else had experience of this treatment and how they found it? Thanks in advance!

I'm currently on Prostap due my forth injection next week. This is the second time I've been on these injections. First time round it did help with some of the endo pain and stopped my period but I didn't have HRT and got bad menopausal side effects. This time I've been given HRT so no side effects but, still waiting for periods to stop and it's put my endo into a major flare up, so I'm not too good at the moment. I've got bowel adhesions as well and it can help to ease inflammation but adhesions don't go and it still causes bowel/gastro issues.

Sorry not much help really, but just shows how different it can be. All you can do is give it a try and see what happens.....good luck

Morning plotments!

That sounds very unpleasant. Part of me wonders, why stop the natural oestrogen & then replace it with synthetic oestrogen, if that's what endo needs to grow.

Obviously I'm not a doctor, but can I ask, what is the supposed outcome of this treatment? Xx

They just give you a small amount of hormone to control menopausal symptoms and help support your bones.

Good morning sweet,

You say you're being investigated for endo & your gynaecologist wants to try this treatment. Have you had a diagnostic laparoscopy yet? Seen a specialist? Because you shouldn't be treated on guesswork, or by a general gynaecologist if you have confirmed endo.

Your endo needs to be diagnosed & excised before you embark on trial & error.

Have you been offered anything like implant/ progesterone only pill/ the mirena coil to (potentially) stop further endo growth?

It just sounds like you're not being adequately treated, please correct me if I'm wrong xx
