Please can someone tell me they’ve experienced this

I am in the process of waiting to get an internal scan as I’ve been having issues and the doctor has said the symptoms I have sound like endometriosis but, for now we will do a scan just for a first step (although I have heard that doesn’t show up endometriosis). However, I have recently experienced a cramping/stitch feeling in my lower left side... it seems to be ongoing and worsens occasionally. Even going for a wee, the cramp worsens... does anyone experience this or have any idea what this could be? Thanks

Hi- yes, I get this too. Awaiting my lap on Wednesday. My pains have always been mainly concentrated on my left side. Make a pain diary and ensure you give a copy to your Doctor. I always feel unless I’m in the midst of a flare then I forget how bad the pain is and I don’t record it or relay it properly x

Thank you so much for responding! Best of luck for your lap. I have noted down as it has been a issue for a couple of days now and am hoping I get a referral soon for a scan - although it’s been a massive delay due to COVID. I’ll keep you updated xx

Good luck to you too. I hope you get your appointment soon. I do find that eating a low inflammatory diet really does help extinguish the fire of flare ups. Make sure you rest when you need to too xx

Hi there, I've just joined, I've been suffering with endo and pcos since I was 21. Severe period pains etc chocolate coloured periods, severe lower back pain, fatigue, the list goes on. Dr told me when I was 21 to deal with it, its just period pain. I'm now 38, had 3 laparascopies, 5 attempts at ivf (icsi) which resulted in m/c. Been on tramadol, naproxin, cocodamol etc etc for +15 years on and off. My endo is stage 4 so my ovaries are stuck to my bowels, my bowels have endo on them, my bladder and my kidney. I've been put through the menopause several times to help with the pain over the years as its been that bad its affected my mental health, it takes over your life . I've had the pain in the left side that your referring to and from my experience it sounds like it could be an ovarian cyst possibly endo type. You have every right to ask your gp for a scan. My cysts were always between 2.5cm and 5.5 c. Anything over 5cm they will operate on and remove, however you will need a few scans because some cysts are fluid filled that drain every month while you have a period and fill up again. Throughout the month. Its the bleeding into cavities that cause the pain. I had a cyst removed twice each time I had it removed another returned in the same place within 2 weeks. I've just stopped taking decapeptal as I've been on it for a year and after stopping it in early September last year my period has just returned yesterday and by god its the period from hell. Very heavy and painful . Good luck with everything and dont take any rubbish from your gp. Demand a scan ! If they say no then report your go to the manager of the surgery and file a complaint, you are a patient and you have a right.

Thank you so much for your help and support. I am due to get an internal scan but, unfortunately it could be a very long wait (doesn’t help with COVID). It makes me feel better that I am not alone in this journey and I will not let this go at all. I have had to change doctors as my previous doctor always seemed to be dismissive. Off topic but, I complained for trouble breathing and she put it down to hay fever which, yes it was a factor but I ended up having asthma. And it took her a while to actually come to that conclusion after struggling for months and months and months with difficulty breathing! I have never felt happy going to her as I worry she will dismiss me but, after changing doctors, he listens to me and ensures this won’t be left. It has made a huge difference to me as I feel so much more comfortable in expressing the way I feel and knowing he will do something about it. Thank you again and I keep you updated!

Hi,Maybe someone answered this already. Sorry I couldn’t read all of the replies.

I get this too- my lap showed extensive endo in this area, among others. I also get a lot of cysts here too. As you know, a TV scan won’t show endo, but it will show up cysts.

Wish you all the best!
