Change in periods - short and light - diagnosed endo

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing ok with what’s going on!

Looking for some advice if poss 💜

Over the course of a year , my periods have gone from being 5 days long, dropping down to a maximum of 24 hours in duration and so light it’s almost just spotting.

I have been diagnosed via laparoscopy with endometriosis and have moderate amounts of free fluid and adhesions in my pelvic area on last ultra sound.

I am not on any hormonal treatment as I couldn’t tolerate it.

Does anyone have any idea of why my periods have become so short and light? Could the fluid in my pelvis be period blood not coming out?

Obviously concerned about fertility as I’m 31

Xxx

Hi, sadly cannot give you a straight answer but wanted to share my experience. I am 35 and went through the same thing as you. My cycle went from 28 day to 24. Along with this very short snd light but with a lot of pain before during and after.

My concerns were the same, fertility and possibly hitting menopause or peri.

A long story short after following up with different doctors found out i was low on iron, vit d, and b's. Once my levels went back to normal ish so did my period length and flow. I am not to full 2 days of bleeding which as painful as it is is I am glad to see it.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for replying!

Perhaps I’ll try speaking to my dr and checking my levels too.

Its one thing after another isn’t it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Take care

Never ending..."project endo" i call it. I have a dairy and managing endo is an unpaid full time job on top of a paid full time job, on top of looking after 2 dogs, and trying to have a relationship. We endo women are heroes! Just missing a cape to go with it! Look after yourself! Happy new year
