Decidual cast

Has anybody ever had a decidual cast? Im on the depo injection and This is has happened on my first injection so I’m being taken off it. The casting happens when you have too much estrogen or progestin and it’s called membranous dysmenorrhea, and it’s apparently rare. Just wondering if anyone else has had it what their experiences were like such as pain/what it felt like. I’m only 16 so it’s quite a scary experience for me.

I had to look this one up. I’ve always had small clots, more near the end of a period. Having read about decidual cast it’s normally quite large, but can be smaller pieces. I’m not really sure if I did or not.Anything like this can be scary. What are the overall plans for your treatment? Have you had a lap? In the UK there are specialist clinics for teenagers with endometriosis.

If you like I can send you a picture of mine, but it’s quite gross. Mine came out as the full piece. And with endo for me my doctors seem to push me away. I went for a transvaginal ultrasound not too long ago and they measured 5 cysts around my womb and also saw scar tissue but after that they insisted I was okay and haven’t really spoke to me since. The last one they did was when I went to hospital due to the decidual cast because my mum and dad thought it was a prolapsed uterus as it looked like a uterus.

And also blood clots are normal in a period as it’s the uterine lining coming away👌🏽

I hope everything gets sorted for you soon, it’s great you’ve got support around you. 🙂Have you got a referral to a gynaecologist, if not do ask your GP for one, it’s important not to leave this.

Unfortunately you can’t PM pictures, you can post on the forum, but not sure if others would want to see it. Personally I’m fascinated by this type of thing.

Gosh never heard of that and I am 45! That must have been really scary for you. I have lost large clots with fibroids and endo but never had that. Thanks for educating us. Hope all is ok for you now x

Yeah it was. My mum wasn’t there with me at the time so the by the look of the picture at first she thought it was just a large clot but my dad double checked it and took me straight to the hospital. Your more than welcome and yes as far as I can tell everything is okay for now 😊 thankyou for replying x

You are blessed to have such loving parents, I could of never gone to my dad with things like that and my mum used to say she couldn’t understand why I used to get so much pain as she didn’t. She is no longer with us but would love to be able to tell her I actually had endometriosis and it wasn’t normal. Do you have an endo diagnosis? X

Yes, this happened to me earlier this year, when I'd just finished a round of 3 continuous months on the pill.

It happened in the same way for me too!

It happened me before a flight a few years ago! Was in absolute agony with the pain, arrived in Iceland and went to the bathroom and found what I could only describe as three small chicken fillet like lumps in my underwear. I was so shocked! Thankfully after googling the life out of my experience and speaking with my gynaecologist when I arrived home, he wasn’t concerned about it at all, that it does sometimes happen and basically said not to worry about it at all. I feel for you though, I know it was a bit scary for me even after a lot of gynae issues over the years. It happened when I was on the pill. Hope you’re feeling better about it now. I’ve never had it since

I am feeling better now and thankyou for replying! Mine came out as a whole and my body contracted it out so I got labour like pains which were awful😣

I had one when I was first put on the combined pill so was put on a higher estrogen pill. Painful and very scary but hasn’t happened since thankfully

I’m glad it hasn’t happened to you since. I can’t go on anything else because of my families health history so my parents think it would be best if I came of it altogether. The doctors have said it shouldn’t happen again but it can as I have really irregular periods and before it happened I didn’t have a period for 4 months so my body was building up tissue and blood. Thankyou for replying! X
