Examination whilst on period?

Hey all just a quick question. I’m due a consultation with a specialist next Tuesday which will be the first time seeing him, so from what I’ve read and heard from others he may do an examination. I’m late for my period (they are so irregular!) and in the instance that I come on before then, would he still do an examination or want to reschedule? Because I’m paying for a private consultation I want to get the most out of my appointment, so didn’t know whether I should reschedule if I do come in before then, or if it wouldn’t matter x

I was examined twice while on period they didn't seem bothered about itmaybe give them a ring to double check like you said you wouldn't want it to be a waste of money/time if they can't

I can’t remember if I was or wasn’t, I know when I asked about this and op, he said it wouldn’t matter and more likely to show endo. It probably won’t natter but as plotments mentioned give the secretary a call. They’ll have heard it before, it won’t be anything new.You may want to consider painkillers beforehand, I found it uncomfortable because of all the pushing around and then took a while to settle.

Thank you plotments and Moon_maiden both really helpful 😊 I did think they’ve probably seen it all before but wanted to double check...will give his sec a call thank you xx

I was on when I had my first consultation and panicked when he asked about an examination! He wasn’t in the slightest worried and it’s over so quickly it didn’t seem to matter too much! X

Ah thanks lovely! Because I’m so irregular I didn’t even think about it, but then thought oh it will just be my luck coming on the day before! That’s made me feel a lot better thank you x

I hadn’t thought of it either and when he mentioned about doing it I said oh god I’m on my period (I’d literally come on that morning) and he said oh that’s fine doesn’t worry me at all. But to be fair he also did say don’t feel pressured you don’t have to have one if you don’t feel comfortable so it’s entirely up to you anyway! X

I suppose some women have their periods more often so they’re used to to, like when I tried an old pill it didn’t suit me at all and I was on constantly for months on end! Xx

I’ve just spoken to his secretary and she was really nice and said he most probably would go ahead with an examination as long as I was comfortable, and not to worry because it’s part of his job. So feel a bit better! Thanks ladies x
