Help! Nhs removed me from the endo specia... - Endometriosis UK
Help! Nhs removed me from the endo specialist and put me with a general gynaecologist what should I do?
I've had phone called with the endometriosis specialist and stuff so I feel like i can trust him now I'm very confused and was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? The operation letter has a different Dr name under consultant but no where is my endometriosis Dr's name mentioned... I'm really stressed about it... Also there's no information about covid ect and the details are extremely limited 😔 thanks for the advice guys
Call the specialists secretary and ask. It could be the other gynaecologist works with yours, but best to find out or it’s an error. Have you looked up the other dr?You do need to be able to know, and trust who is doing your surgery.
I initially had a call on NHS, but it didn’t feel right, so I paid to see him privately, op was on NHS.
Your GP can also help to confirm what is happening.
Let us know if you get anything sorted. Try not to stress too much until you can find out more. Don’t forget if you’ve already had a diagnosis of endo you should be seeing the specialist.
Thank you for the reply!I tried to call today but they said they can't help me till Monday.. I'm wondering if its just my endo specialist assistant or something.. I googled the Dr listed on my letter under consultant and she is a gynecologist who does laparoscopies nothing about endo that's public, which worries me..
I didn't know you could do that! The specialist is on the nhs but he also runs a private clinic and he's super busy.. I just feel they would of told me if they changed my surgeon? They moved me to a different building like a private hospital across the road from the main hospital but I didn't think that would change my sergeon. But I am extremely worried and having sleepless nights over it until I find out!
I will call them Monday and ask, if I don't find out then I shall contact my gp.
When you had ur laparoscopy or endometriosis surgery was your surgeons name on the letter which had the date and time to arrive at the hospital? Or was it someone else? (you don't have to answer if too private) my friend said it could just be the head of the gyne department, but that's not under the Dr's online details... Sorry to go on! Thanks for the reply!
HiI have checked and it was the consultants name on the admission letter.
Don’t apologise for going on 🙂, you have very legitimate concerns, I’m sure most would feel the same.
Let us know how you get on tomorrow.
Hello!Thank you so much, so its looking like they changed my surgeon maybe 😔 I hope it all sorts out!!
Thank you for your help, Il defo let you know how it goes tomorrow x
How did you get on?
Hello! Well I called a few people at the hospital, ans apparently my endo specialist is so overwhelmed that he has put my case to one of the other doctors he works with (not a endo specialist but she works alot with the endo team). I'm happy with this although I have no clue what method she uses, I don't want them to use burning at all if they do find endometriosis... And I was very set on the same 2 step plan that I made with the endo specialist... I'm gonna call up again tomorrow to find out what method my new Dr uses and hopefully its the same as the endo specialist... If he's passed my case to this other doctor in hoping she is fab about it all and does the same as the specialist, the specialist seamed pretty not keen on burning so hopefully this Dr is the same... Thanks for asking! What do you think about it all?
That’s great you are finding info, good idea to check on excision. Have you googled her? Quite often consultants will have their own website these days, or if you look at the hospital website there can be info. She will likely have learnt a lot from the specialist. Let us know how you get on 🙂
Thank you I am so glad! I have searched my new surgeon and well it doesn't say she does endometriosis anywhere she primarily works with pregnant women and labour, but I think she's one of the hospitals leading women's doctors, and she's meant to be amazing at her job so I hope to here some more information soon... They have given me a surgery date but apparently she still needs to look over my case and accept it? I'm hoping to hear more about it all soon 😊😊
