I had a laparoscopy last week and am wondering if I will be able to see more detailed notes about what was found. When I came round the consultant said they had found a small amount of endometriosis on the right side and removed it. I would like to know how it was removed and if there was any bladder or bowel involvement, especially as my symptoms involving these areas are still present. I appreciate I need to wait to see but I am also really keen to get to the bottom of it. Does anyone know the procedure for requesting these notes? Do I go to the GP?

Post laparoscopy follow up?
When I had my first op on the NHS I had a follow up six weeks later where they should have a file and should have taken photographs and that should all be explained to you. (my file was empty but that’s another story!!) there’s no harm in asking your GP to follow this up for you.
Thanks, I will get on this. I wasn’t given a follow up but it feels like I need one.
You make a request for medical notes at the hospital were op was done....some hospitals have an on line request form to fill in you should get them within a month.......
I had laparoscopy 6 weeks ago and had no detailed information post op. No follow up, nothing. I emailed the secretary of the gynae who did my op and asked for more information. They then sent me a letter with a brief explanation that didn't answer any of my questions. As I'm still in just as much pain now as I was before my gp arranged a follow up appointment at the hospital which is tomorrow. Hoping for some answers and help to manage my pain. I would ask the hospital and your GP to cover all bases and hopefully you'll get some answers.
