Could I have endomeriosis?

Please help

Awaiting an appt on a very long NHS waiting list. I had a late term pregnancy loss in May which had to be brought on using misoprostol. Following this I had endometrial thickness for some time accompanied by pain and constant bleeding which lasted about 8 weeks.

5 months on i am in a normal cycle again, a bit shorter than it was before. I have a persistent on and off pain in my pelvis which worsens when sat down and for some time after. I have had PID ruled out due to lack of infection. I have no other symptoms beside this but feel I am getting brushed off by every doctor I see.

Just wondering about endomeriosis: has anyone had this with this as their only symptom and normal periods? Starting to get really worried.

My last scan was in July and found normal endometrial thickness. It also showed a fibroid but this was only 1mm.

Symptoms vary so much with this condition. If it was an ultrasound endometriosis won’t always show. It’s good you’re on a waiting list, let them know if you’re available at short notice for cancellation, that’s is if you can and don’t mind covid. There will be people that cancel.

I had three fibroids show on US, at lap and on MRI became numerous.

The endo UK site has some great info for tackling consultations with GP and consultant.

Take care 🙂

Thank you. Gosh its so frustrating! Do you know if cysts are a sign that endo is present?

I’m not sure about cysts, I haven’t knowingly had any so far. Although gynae could only see one ovary at lap and none show on scans.

I believe that chocolate cysts are endometriosis, but not totally sure. Hopefully someone will have more experience of this

Hi Emily, this also happened to me this year in March. I thought it was a urine infection and then chronic pelvic and groin pain for months, with no pain killers touching the pain. They believed it was PID (despite no infection) so I was treated for this several times and each time it did not work. I got ultrasounds, both came back clear and I have seen a gynecologist who believes it could be endo. I really do feel for you as the pain has returned again for me and I wonder if it will leave again... I hope you feel better soon but I wanted to let you know you’re not alone. Thank you for sharing your story, it helped make me feel a little less lonely in this journey x
