Misdiagnosis and excision recovery?

I had my second surgery last week, I was told after the first lap that I had mild superficial Endo on my peritoneal wall but the second surgery revealed I was completely misdiagnosed and had Endo everywhere, including my ovaries, bladder pelvis and groin in particular. I had a lot of Endo removed but a week on I’m still struggling to get out of bed and can’t do much else than walk to the bathroom and back. Last night I was sick with pain, I wondered what other people’s recovery experience was like? Is this normal or should I be improving more by now? Xx

Hi

You sound as though a lot was done during op, a week is a very short space of time. Trouble is with a lap there is little to show on the outside, I’m sure it screws with the thought process as it’s hard to equate to the inside. It took me a few weeks to recover from op and start driving.

Everyone will recover differently, if you think there might be an infection or just unsure contact your GP, try and speak to one you know might be understanding 🙂

I had dreadful constipation after and this caused a huge amount of pain, walking helped and laxatives. I just went for a walk up and down the garden a time or two.

Thank you so much, it is so nice to hear that I’m not the only one, I think me and my family were shocked that I wasn’t better sooner! Thank you for the advice it’s so nice to hear xx
