I’ve had my laparoscopy on the 21st and removal of endometriosis and tube dye test. I still feel absolutely awful and in a lot of pain, all the doctors said I should be fine in a week but I’m still unable to move normally and have to take codine to control the pain. I do suffer from anxiety and my mood has hit extreme lows with lots of crying. I just wondered if this was normal and how long it took other people to recover?

Hi Jodie, I’m sorry you’re feeling rubbish. In my experience it def doesn’t take a week to feel better! I had mine on 6th and I felt awful and couldn’t move around much at all for the first week. Second week I felt less sick and tired but still in pain and taking a lot of painkillers and walking was really painful. The codeine made me feel really sick and light headed so I tried to just sick to ibuprofen and paracetamol, plus a wheat bag/hot water bottle to relax me and peppermint tea. I‘ve really noticed a difference in the last couple of days (3 weeks in), so I think it just takes time. I suffer from anxiety too and definitely felt it afterwards - felt like I wasn’t healing properly and something was wrong. Hang in there and I’m sure you’ll feel better over the next week or so. Take care ☺️ X
Sorry your Dr's are wrong. Usually takes a couple of weeks. Some take longer some take less. Can be dependant on how much was removed etc during surgery.
But when once you feel better it takes longer to heal internally usually a couple of months, but that's more an FYI so if you have a couple of painful periods don't think the surgery hasn't helped as it's likely just still healing.
I took 2 weeks off work and I had stage 1 removed. And when I went back I have my work the heads up that I wasn't 100%.
