I had my first lap on 31st July and was told I’d have a post-op call 8 weeks after. Still no call.
I have recently changed GPs and moved down South and I am unsure how to go about getting a follow-up and what to do now I have been diagnosed.
I am still in a lot of pain every day so it would be good to look at pain management methods and understand my endo situation a bit more. How should I make the next step? 🤔

I would take the opportunity to see whether you were treated correctly so that you can make sure you are going forward. Was the lap done by someone with a special interest in endo which is a requirement of the NICE guideline - that means they must have done extra training above general gynaecology? As you are still in pain they might not have had the expertise to treat you properly. The discharge note from the lap often gives an indicator - it should say what was found (where in you pelvis and what stage) and how it was treated, if it was. You can request a referral to someone new in your new location and make sure they are suitably qualified in endo. If there is any mention of severe endo on the note (stage 3/4/nodules) you would need referring to a specialist endo centre. Knowledge is key to getting the right treatment and driving our care. We often know more about endo than our doctors. Please feel free to ask if you need more help. x
