Teenage acne, PCOS & endometriosis. Are they linked?

Hello ladies. I have another question for those of you diagnosed with endo.

Did you have severe teenage acne or acne throughout your teenage hood leading into adulthood which never seemed to go away whatever you did?

I started puberty at age 8, started periods when I was 10 and I believe I started getting acne around the age of 8 and I had acne for over 12 years. Nothing cleared it and I tried an immense amount of treatments. The only thing that cleared it for me was Isotretinoin (but not fully). I do still sometimes get acne, but it’s never as bad as it used to be. My skin is heavily scarred from it.

Have any of you had a similar experience? Struggled with acne pretty much the majority of your life and being diagnosed with endo and/or PCOS? Is there a link between them?

We do have PCOS in our family and my sister struggles a lot with acne and is very hairy. I’ve had lots of blood tests relating to hormones and they were all ok. (I’m now under investigations of a gynae).

Do any of you have PCOS as well as endo? I’m really interested in this, if you could share your stories I would appreciate this so much!
