Doctor has prescribed me these along with codeine? What’s anyone’s opinions who has taken this? Thanks

They are a progesterone medication. I couldn't tolerate them due to the affect on my mental health, however, they do not affect everyone the same.

I’m on norethindrone acetate, which is similar. It did stop my period as the doctor wanted, but it has come along with more low grade migraines and it hasn’t really stopped the pain, though the pain has become more manageable (I also had the Mirena coil removed in March and I think that accounts for most of the improvements). I’m planning to discontinue it soon.

That said, everyone reacts differently and if your doctor recommended it, it is probably worth a try. The hope is that if they can stop your period, the endo won’t advance.

I’ve just been prescribed it for heavy prolonged periods. I’ve only been given a 10 day course then follow up phone consultation with GP to discuss discuss how things have gone, minus the codine.
