Hi Lula, these centres were set up to specifically deal with endo. The surgeons undergo more extensive training than general gynaecologists. They also use excision rather than ablation. You are also assigned an endo specialist nurse who you can call anytime.
Your GP can refer you. Have a look on the BSGE website and it will show you all the centres along with consultants. You can then decide where you want to go and get GP to refer you to them . Any problems come back to me and I will try and help.
Bsge centers are amazing they are more for stage 3 and 4 endo as us ladies are more complex, i.e. Location of endo. But it never hurts to ask to go. Good luck
Hi, I saw an specialist from the bsge list (private healthcare) but at a more local hospital. Obvs. Didn't get the Nurse follow up but that didn't worry me. So if the centre is too far away see if the specialist operates from a closer hospital.
