periods have been extremley odd. Sometimes missing a month all together and my period cycle has suddenly changed from 29 days to 31+ days. My period also comes extremley heavy the first and second day, and is light on the third day with the fourth day and fifth day only very light bleeding or brown ish blood. I have taken pregnancy tests which confirm I'm not pregnant. I am 20 years old. My periods have been irregular up until I was 18/19 and then they came normally for a year but now it's gone funny again . I do not know if how heavy they are is abnormal and I am unsure if some of the sharp stabbing pains are just normal period pains or endo. I had a pelvic exam and I had a yeast infection and apparently my vaginal canals looked very sore. I have had pain during sex and sometimes even bleed after sex. I have also had bowel issues recently. At the moment my period is due but I've only had 3 days of brown discharge and really heavy feeling around my lower back

I'm afraid I can't offer any guidance or advice but it might be reassuring to know that I am in a similar situation and also looking for help. I'm off to the doc in the coming week and if I am told anything that might help you too I will give you an update.
It's good to know I have someone in the same boat. And please do, that would help. I have a doctor's appointment next week. What are you suspecting could be the cause of yours.
To be honest I have no idea. We have stopped using contraception but I don't know if that could effect my pains/periods in this way! Would just be nice to have a orofessional tell me I'm not falling apart (too much)!
Endometriosis and adenomyosis have the same symptoms are you asking gp for a internal scan if that shows nothing ask for a lap, hope your sorted out soon x
I am quite nervous asking the gp for any blood tests or scans, how do.i persuade them that I need one. More times than not they just tell me my irregular periods are from stress and the pain is to them normal
When I went in to see mine I just said I have the pain everyday and my periods are 10x worse (the pain) and it's having a impact on my life and I can't do everyday things and it's getting to me now then I said I need some pain relief as I've tried everything over the counter and nothing works, I also had painful sex, if he or she is a good GP they should send you for a ultrasound, also tell him you have all the symptoms of adenomyosis and endometriosis, say to them it's not period pain because it's gradually getting worse, there is a blood test now you can have for endo it's a CA-125 just say if you don't mind also can I have that to rule out endo please and a ultrasound to rule out adeno you can't go on like this sometimes we need to just bite the bullet and say what we need to to get exactly what we need I know it's scarry I just had enough and broke down in the dr's and he listened to me, let me know how you get on won't you I really feel for you if I could I'd come with you, maybe take someone for support xx
