I have been struggling with constant pain in my stomach and feeling nauseous for the past year every single day all day. My Gp’s at my doctors surgery haven’t helped me at all, they have only been doing the same two tests ( blood tests and ultrasounds) which both came up with nothing. After a whole year of trying to get my doctors to refer me to a gynaecologist to test me for endometriosis. They have finally referred me after a year, but because of covid, they can’t see me in person. I have spoken to a gynaecologist over the phone who has said he thinks I may have endometriosis but he can’t be sure. In the mean time he said he will put me on depo provera which can balance my hormones and to help my pain. Has anyone else tried this?

Does depo provera contraception injection actually help with someone who has endometriosis/ helping pain?
Hi I had the same problem it has definitely worked for me
It doesn’t work for everyone but I went from being in pain all the time to hardly nothing apart from occasional flair ups been on them for 8 months now due to COVID as waiting for a full Hysterectomy
Hope this helps
I will say I am getting problems now with the injection site but it’s better than pain I was in
Hello, I am on the depot provera jab for endometriosis, migraines and hemorrhaged cyst. It has helped massively although I still get a period every 6-8 weeks, it is a lot lighter and the pain isn't as bad. I had side effects when I started such as increased hunger and weight gain and I had to look at the pro's and cons and eliminating the pain won hands down. I now have an issue where I have low calcium & testosterone and I don't know whether the depot jab caused this or it is a separate issue. I'm going for blood tests and a bone scan soon. Jo x
