Getting a diagnosis

My daughter is 18 she has rung the doctors 3 times recently saying how much pain she is in when she has her period and they are extremely heavy. All her legs go numb she is bent over double with pain. She is constipated and is hardly eating they prescribed naproxen without any tablets to protect her stomach lining and now she has heartburn as well. She also suffers from migraines and when she gets those her nose and fingers go numb so I thought it was just a side effect of that I didn’t realise at first that but now I have done some research realise that it’s not from migraines. I am now very worried for her because doctors won’t give her an appointment with all that’s going on in the world.

If they use the excuse of the virus that’s wrong, I’ve been too many in the last few weeks for various things, but all related.

She does need to see the doctor and they need to acknowledge what’s happening. Can you go with her? It’d probably help a huge amount.

They need to check there’s nothing happening such as urine infection.

I’d thoroughly recommend using the econsult form on the surgery website, they are all supposed to have this set up. It’s written info that can’t be ignored or fobbed off. They give a time of response as well.

Have a look at the endo UK website, there is some great info about seeing the GP and a symptom diary.

You’re right about the Naproxen and something to help the stomach, I’m taking omeprazole, for this and possible reflux.

Migraines can have different causes, but keep a note of when they happen and events prior.

The not eating is not much fun.

Let us know how you both get on.

Thanks for replying she’s ended up at a&e. Because the pain got so bad. She has had to go on her own. Not allowing anyone else in. The doctor says it more then likely is. They are booking her in to see her gynaecologist and taking urine sample. She has been there about 2 hours now and keeps passing out. No one is taking any notice of her. She lost her chair so is currently sat on the floor being sick. I no this virus is taking a lot of time up but I don’t think see is been treated great. They could at least find her another chair. 😢
