I honestly don’t know if this is the right place to put this but I don’t know where it would fall under

I want to know if anyone has had bad experiences while on the pill and once they go off the pill cause I feel like birth control has completely messed up my body

I went on the pill when I was 14 because of very heavy periods that lasted for months at a time. But Apart from the periods I was perfectly healthy before birth control.

Not long after I went on them I started getting terrible diarrhoea. I was going 2-3 times a day it was almost liquid sometimes and it was always yellow. It usually happened at night but sometimes occurred after lunch too. I usually always happened not long after I ate food. Also in those 2 year on birth control I put on so much weight mainly in the stomach area. The diarrhoea has improved since I’ve gone off the tablets but I still get a flare up occasionally and the weight hasn’t improved it’s just gotten worse!

I only stayed on the medication because I didn’t want to get really bad periods again.

But I’d had enough of having diarrhoea this year in January after 2 years of having it. It was starting to make me feel really weak.

Only a few weeks after I went off birth control (at the end of February). I got what my doctors think is tonsillitis. I honestly don’t know what it exactly is. Here are my symptoms:

Neck is super swollen at sides and the front. I went from having a jawline to having absolutely no jaw line at all and a slight double chin. It’s swollen from just underneath my chin all the way to the bottom of my neck. I also have a small ball lump at the bottom of my neck which I don’t know if it’s my thyroid or not. But when I run my hand over the front of my neck it feels quite hard under the skin. My doctors said I have no lymph node swelling so I don’t know what the swelling is from!

My tonsils have white patches on them and are quite red and inflamed looking. I reckon they look swollen as well but my doctors reckon they aren’t swollen.

Last night when I was brushing my teeth I noticed that all inside my mouth on the inside of my cheeks is all swollen and it looks like it’s touching my teeth and now this morning I feel a horrible pressure in my cheeks and all up the sides of my face.

I also have a weird fatty hump between my neck and my shoulders.

My cheeks feeling hot comes and goes

I feel like it’s completely wiped all my energy.

I feel like my vision has gotten worse

Last night when I cried because of all this my eyes absolutely stung when I cried!

I’m getting little red pimple like rashes on my arms, top of my legs, my stomach and chest

I’m getting random pains throughout my body and my muscles feel quite tired and weak.

My acne has gotten so much worse It’s cystic and none of them have whiteheads so they won’t pop and my face feels extra oily but sometimes it feels dry and starts flaking.

I feel like my anxiety and my depression has gotten worse

I feel like my heart rate has gotten faster and I can feel my heart beat throughout my whole body

The list goes on!!!

I’ve had this for 3 months now I’m absolutely tired of it!! I just want to feel better

There had been no pain at all except for today since it’s gotten worse I feel like my throat feels slightly sore now but it’s nothing drastic.

The swelling is the most annoying part of it all!

I’ve been tested for mono and that came back negative

I’ve been tested for helicobacter since I’ve been getting bad indigestion and my GP thought that might’ve been the reason but that came back negative

They took a swabbing of my mouth to check for strep bacteria but that came back negative.

I went to an ENT last week and she didn’t do much. She just had a quick feel of my neck and said that my lymph nodes aren’t swollen. She took a quick look inside my mouth and said that there’s pus on my tonsils. She stuck a camera up my nose and down my throat and said everything looked fine. Then she said she’s not 100% sure but she “thinks” I have tonsillitis and that she thinks it’s time for me to get my tonsils out. She gave a form to my mum to give to the hospital to be put on a waiting list to get my tonsils removed. I’m concerned that it’s not my tonsils at all since I’m not getting many tonsillitis symptoms and that it’s something else and the surgery will be a waste!

I’m thinking it could be thyroid, a weird case of tonsillitis, or a hormonal imbalance from going off birth control.

Someone in another group even suggested a problem with lingual tonsils so that could even be it!

But it only happened as soon as I went off birth control so I feel like that was the cause

I’ve already been on 2 lots of antibiotics and the doctors don’t want me to go on another lot! So the only option left is surgery which I don’t want to get in case it doesn’t help!

Has anyone had this happen to them after going off birth control! I just feel so sick and that I have no energy I just want to feel better and get my life back! I’m really worried about what I could be! I regret going on birth control I was the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life!
