Hi, I'm 49 and have been surprised by a repeat scan confirming an endometrioma on my right ovary. My GP told me my results last week and referred me to a gynaecologist at my local hospital. She said they were still offering consultations by telephone and video. However, I've now received a letter from the hospital saying they've reviewed my clinical record and have decided to defer my outpatient appointment until further notice.
If you've followed a similar referral process, please could you enlighten me about what to expect at this first appointment? I was looking forward to find out what's going on and hoped this might be possible via phone or video... Thank you 🙏

Thank you for your reply. So hard to second guess the reasons why I don’t qualify for a phone appointment - I assumed it means they want to perform a physical exam - hadn’t thought it might be age related 🙄!
I can understand why you decided to go private. Two new diagnoses in quick succession has been a lot to process and now I’m impatient for answers. I’m not sure where in the country you are but would you recommended your gynaecologist?
Yes, I had a recent ultrasound during the lockdown so it surprised me that they’re now keeping me at arm’s length. Thank you for your pm - will reply directly.
