Morning all

Hope we’re ok

Just been given a diagnosis of hopefully endometriosis after I don’t know countless visits to hospitals, GPs, moaning at work

So going on the waiting list for laparoscopy

Thank you for your kind words - I’m very relieved and at long last feel like l haven’t been making things up

Now just hope they find what they need in the laparoscopy

It’s crazy we feel that way when they agree to investigate. I still find it surreal.

I must admit I hoped he’d be wrong 🤣

Hopefully it won’t take long.

That's great, did you have a scan that indicated it? My scans came back normal but am awaiting a laparoscopy.

It’s really rare for it to show up on a scan so don’t worry if your scan was normal your lap will be able to properly tell you☺️

Thank you. Sort of despairing at the moment. Do you experiencing pain and bowel discomfort after your period too?

My bowel issues normally occur during my period, the area of some of my endo is positioned between my rectum and uterus which can cause lightning crouch, which basically means I get debilitating pain from my rectum as if I got struck by lightning. But when I first spoke about my symptoms to a doctor I never realised it had anything to do with my period as they came every 6-9 months (pcos) which meant I had a lot of gastro appointments which ended up not being needed as it was a gyne issue rather than gastro, the gyne issues just caused gastro symptoms. If that makes any sense😅

That’s fab. You now know your symptoms have a medical term/name.

It’s a really weird feeling getting told you have endo, I remember crying with happiness! Because that meant I wasn’t crazy and that this pain was really and there was something actually wrong. Good luck hun☺️

Amen! In my case it’s the reason I cried with sadness, as the doctor poked my shoulder for a couple of minutes (after I’d told her that thoracic endo causes this and I was suffering with it) and then she says “it’s not endometriosis.” No explanation just that I was imagining it and it was prob RSI. I haven’t been told if it is endo, as I’ve been so fobbed off so many times. How she could tell by just poking my shoulder, I don’t know! Lol. X

How bizarre, I would defo continue to push for a lap! Even if it’s not endo it could be something else, don’t give up😘

That’s great news 🙂 it’s the not knowing xxx
