Trying to get pregnant-when to come off pill

Hello!

So me and my partner are going to be trying for a baby in few months. I have been taken the contraceptive pill for years to control my Endo (after surgery to remove endo) and am unsure when the best time to come off it would be. Iv read that you should come off a couple of months before trying in order to better understand your cycle. But that’s for those without endo... I can’t find much advice for women with endo. I’m worried that if I came off the pill a few months before trying the endo symptoms will come back and damage chances of conception. I’m wondering if coming off it at the last minute would mean the endo has less time to come back and better chances of conception. Any advice would be very appreciated as I am currently very confused!

Thanks!! Xx

Hey, I know you posted this a few months ago but I’m in exactly the same position as you in not being able to find clarity on when to come off the pill. I stopped taking it a year ago and we are being very relaxed about the whole thing so it happens as naturally as possible with zero stress. My endo symptoms of pain have only just started again in the last six weeks or so, but I am having really irregular periods which is making it a nightmare knowing what is going on with my body. I don’t know what you have ended up doing but it’s always nice to know someone else gets you! I hope whatever you’d decided is working out xx

Hi I actually saw my gyno yesterday I had this conversation with her. She just said when I’m ready to start trying to finish the current pack I am on then to start trying. She did say if I don’t get pregnant within a few months then to go back and have surgery again to give me a higher change of getting pregnant. I don’t know if that’s something you want to consider? Hope all is well xx

Hey Christina, thanks for letting me know - that’s interesting, will deffo keep it in mind. I was offered a lap but declined it hoping I’d fall pregnant pretty quickly but it’s not happened. Didn’t know surgery could make a difference to it, thank you x
