Bloating... really worried

Hi,

This post is on the back of my last one about 2 weeks ago. I’m very bloated all the time it doesn’t go down. I’m just a bit concerned.

I had my period about 2 weeks ago ( only usually get max 2 a year ) and still hasn’t went down.

Going to go back to the GP but has anyone else experienced bloating symptoms for as long?

Thanks x

Thanks x

Me too! One of the many joys of endo!! Have you tried buscopan?

You could also try monitoring what you’re eating and track what makes you bloated and what doesn’t? That will probably be what the doctor tells you to do xx

It’s awful, I’m waiting on surgery to have the endo removed but that’s been pushed back 🙁

I feel like I’ve tried everything, I’m coeliac so I track my eating anyway but thank you for the advice! Xx

That definitely won’t help!! Good luck with your surgery and I’m sorry it’s been pushed back :( just a tip - stock up on peppermint tea!! The trapped gas after the operation is very painful. Peppermint tea was the only thing that relieved this for me :) xx

Hello, I had this. Looked like I was pregnant all the time. I got fed up and ended up going to the Dr's. I had 2 type of scans done ultrasound & transvaginal ultrasound, it transpired I had a 7cm cyst on my ovary.

I had surgery in February to remove the cyst, my left ovary and tube. The bloating has gone 😊

Ask your Dr to send you for scans.

Hi! Oh no poor you!

I’ve had 2 emergency ops for ruptured cysts in the past but this is just the bloating not really much pain. I will probably go back to the doctors but they just aren’t sympathetic in the slightest 🙁

Xx ❤️

Hello Hannah,

If this persists beyond 3 weeks and you have additional symptoms as listed below, courtesy of the Ovacome website, seek medical advice:

Recognise the B.E.A.T. signs of ovarian cancer

B is for bloating that doesn’t come and go

E is for eating difficulty and feeling full more quickly

A is for abdominal and pelvic pain you feel most days

T is for toilet changes in urination or bowel habits

If you have any of these symptoms which are new and persistent, tell your doctor.

Symptoms of ovarian cancer can vary from woman to woman.

There are other symptoms such as:

Vaginal bleeding

Indigestion

Weight loss

Feeling unusually tired

Pain during sex

Pain or lumps in your pelvic area

It is far more likely that these symptoms will be due to something less serious than ovarian cancer.

Hi, thank you.

This is what I’ve been worrying about and I have told the doctor to be told that the bloating could be to do with my diet suggesting that I could be lactose intolerant, I’m already coeliac so very careful with my diet and cut out dairy with no avail!

They also told me that if it was it would’ve shown up on my scans but I just feel like you know yourself when something isn’t right!

I’ve had 2 emergency operations for ruptured cysts and scared this could happen again.

Thanks for your help xx

You only get max 2 periods per year? How's that? Are you on contraceptive? If not it's very likely you have PCOS

Yes, I’m very slim and on desogestral.

Hey I’m getting a similar issue. I had my endo op 8 weeks ago, they also found adhesions and inserted the Mirena coil.

Since then I’ve had severe pain and bloating.

They scanned me two weeks ago and found a simple cyst, they also put me on antibiotics for a suspected PID.

I’ve just finished the course of antibiotics and I’m severely bloated with pain all up my left side.

I don’t know what to do, it’s so uncomfortable 😭😭

I had my op about 6 weeks ago and I'm still a bit bloated with lots of pain too. I didn't have the coil fitted though.

Apperently it's 'normal' if your endo was excised as the body takes longer to real - like there's anything normal about any of this 🙄.

However I guess the PID and cyst will also contribute to your pain, it sounds awful 😞. You could try drinking some hot water, I find that helps me when I'm bloated.

Hope you feel better soon 💕

Aww no bless you, I hope you’re on the mend!

I’m just worried that it could be a cyst and it ends up rupturing like the last two I’ve had. GPs just seem not to be interested in the slightest and palm you off with painkillers until it’s too late!

Thanks hun, you too xx

This ALWAYS happens to me for a LONG time. Try and watch what you eat. This can be a good source of helping it.

I find dairy particularly flares mine up. I’m gluten free. Xxx

Hi having bloating all the time is very painful. I found mine was triggered by certain foods, mainly those containing yeast and dairy so find if I avoid bread and have almond milk and gluten free foods that it eases the bloating considerably and helps reduce pelvic too. It may be worth you checking with your GP/consultant what is causing you to experience bloating as with being a celiac most of these kinds of foods will be eliminated from your diet anyway. Hope you feel better soon x
