How can I prepare for a phone consultation?

Hi all,

Hope everyone's coping with the virus and being stuck inside. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I've just found out that my gyne appointment that I've waited for for 10 months (since my laparoscopy and excisions) is being moved to over the phone :(

Obviously I understand that they're postponing all non - urgent appointments and surgeries but it's just so frustrating :( does anyone have My tips on how to have a successful phone meeting - I had to pursue my own follow up appointment after my surgery as they weren't interested in hearing about my pain anymore! I don't want to have to wait another 10 months as the pain just seems to be getting worse and worse :(

Stay safe all xxx

Write notes on you symptoms before and post op. What changed etc. When you get them compared to before etc.

This way you know you'll be giving them all the info rather than trying to think of it on the spot.

What it is that you want to happen from the phone call? I. E second opinion, imaging, lap... What you are or aren't willing to try different contraceptives/pain killers / pain management etc.

So you have a copy of your medical records? If so I suggest filling in a request for this. In normal situations that return the info within a month but I imagine that's been prolonged with what's going on.

I was going to say pretty much same thing.

Good luck.

If you’re holed up with someone else and you don’t mind, have the call on speaker. Let the consultant know what you’re doing.
