Hi everyone. I had excision surgery for my endo at the end of December. I wanted to know how you felt after? I’m still experiencing awful awful pain and not too sure what do to now. I had all other treatment previously provera, temp menopause, all contraceptives and nothing has worked.
Any advice or your stories would really help me. I need to book in a check up with doc anyway but wanted to reach out here first.
X💛

Hey, you're still two months post op so it's difficult to say. Often it's about 4 to 5 months for things to really heal after excision and for things to settle enough to see what your new "normal" is.
I think it took me about 4 months.
Having said that surgery is invasive and sometimes our bodies don't react well causing extra scar tissue, or just generally swelling / pressure on nerves causing pain.
Yeah book your follow up with your specialist; they should really book one in about 5 to 6 months to check your recovery and discuss next steps in treatment / their expectations.
Thank you for your reply. This is super helpful. Your story is very similar to mine. Suffered for years and was diagnosed in 2017. I’ve booked in with the doc for first follow up and will ask about additional checks after that. My consultant never mentioned anything after, tbh, I hadn’t even really come round from the anaesthetic when she told me what she did, my mum had to relay everything to me.
This app is really helpful, I had a terrible flare that started on Thursday, I found this forum on Friday and got me through.
