Hi I’m having symptoms of endo and have been to the GP, bloods and scans done and fine however they found adhesions so I’m being referred to a gyne for further investigation. How long is it usually for a GP referral to see the gynaecologist? I’m a very impatient person and the doctor gave no indication of how long.

Hi, I suppose it depends on the waiting list in your area. You will either receive a letter in the post in a few weeks with an appointment maybe up to a few months away or you may receive a choose and book letter for you to pick which hospital you will be seen and they will have different waiting times x
Hello
To be honest it completely depends on your area as some have longer waiting lists than others. But it's important to make sure that whoever your appointment is with has a specialist interest in endometriosis (this is required per the NHS guidelines in diagnosising and treating endo). But sometimes people get seen by general gyneacologist without any interest in endo. This may mean a longer wait. But the information you get will be much more valuable than seeing one who didn't know much about it.
Mine is a whole year just to speak to someone 😭
I've been on the waiting list since August. Had my letter to say I was at the top of the list and could book an appointment on Friday just gone. 6 months seems to be pretty standard, but as others have said it depends on where you live. Hope it's not too long for you!
