Hi ladies,

Just after a but of advice I had my laparoscopy to remove the endo towards the end of November. I haven't yet returned to work(due to go back next week) I work within mental health so being able to be quite physical is a must at times. I am still having agonising pains in my right side is this normal? I can't get hold of my gynecologist do I return to work or do I wait for the pain to ease off before hand? Scared if I get kicked in the stomach it might cause more damage.

Thankyou in advance xx

Hey, I would suggest going to your GP and discuss it. They will have some helpful thoughts. They can sign you off with a sick certificate and then if you feel ready you can always go back earlier than the return date.

Also depending on your manager you might feel able to discuss it with them. Maybe you could do restricted duties such as admin until you feel fully recovered. But if you feel that they might pressure you, then I wouldn't and would go to GP.

x

Also sorry I didn't answer your bit about the pain. I'm not an expert but doesn't seem right to me you're still in a lot of pain. Can you contact your gynae's medical secretary and they should be able to get a message to your gynae. You could ask as well if you will be having a follow up appointment x

Oh ok. Well it may be worth speaking to the secretary and see if you can get a message to the gynae and get a response. Once I asked for a phone call and they arranged it, or they might just pass a message between you. Also worth calling regularly to see if you can get a cancellation. I did and managed to get an appointment 6 weeks earlier. Good luck x
