I know there will be other people that have asked this question. But how easy is it to get a doctor to agree to remove both womb and ovaries?
I'm 25 years old and i have never wanted children and the pain is getting unbearable. I currently live in the UK, i came here to study which is not going well at the moment, but i am from Finland.

Hi lottasj, I had full hesterectomy last year .I suffered from fabroeid for more than 5 years and by the time I had hesterectomy I was almost daying it had affected all other part of my body so there was no other choise for me and just 2days after my operation I had started new life, the only problem I still have is hut flushes which is normal and it is many times better now but bare in mind I am 53 and I would be menopause any way but you are very young so aske if there is anything else you can do. I hope it was helpful.
I don't have direct experience as being 49 there was no objection to me having a hysterectomy. However, having followed posts on here for some time my impression is that the NHS are resistant to doing a hysterectomy of any kind for someone as young as you.
I asked for a full hysterectomy last Christmas aged 28 and they told me no way! They have just removed one of my ovaries though, which seems to have helped me so far. Think that was the compromise 😂. If they say no, ask what they can do instead
I had my mirena coil changed a week ago. It was supposed to be changed early a year ago, but it had to be done under general anestetics so the waiting time ended up being close to a year from being referred back and forth. I have been trying to see my gynecologist but haven't been able to yet. I am hoping I will get an follow-up appointment with him soon.
The gynecologist is hoping that the coil change will help with the pain, but so far it doesn't feel like it. But they did have to do a hysteroscopy to reach it so the pain could be because of that as well.
My gp has also started to refuse to prescribe pain medication for me so I think I'm going to go crazy soon.
I really hope you will have an easier time to get treatment!
Hi Lotta, Try to save your parts as long as you can. There might be many reasons why: you change you mind about the kids, less chance of a cancer, the pain still might be there even after everything removed and cleared. I have pains but not as bad as others, if you completely cannot tolerate it, than it is another questions. But I did not want to have kids also for a long time, but then changed my mind. Go to another doctor and ask for the pain killers. That is ridiculous that they do not give you anything for pain. ( just keep in mind not to get use to them also). This disease is so tricky and overwhelming. I am sorry that you are going through it when you just 25.
