IUD pain

Has anyone had bad pain after the Melena IUD? My daughter is only 18 and thought the IUD would stop her bad cramps and pain but six weeks later the bleeding and pain is worse

I would appreciate any info

Just to reassure you I had lots of cramping and pain unfortunately for months (potentially up to 6 months?)after I had the mirina coil fitted (I think it's your uterus getting used to it). And from what I can remember, there was quite a lot of bleeding initially. However, it was really worth bearing with it, as my periods then became so much lighter and less painful, and it helps treat the endo. I stayed on it for 4 years before conceiving, and once I have the baby will be having it put straight back in.
