Has the mini pill made anyone worse?

I went to a gynae who suggested I could stop my periods by taking a double dose of Cerazette. I've been ok on the normal dose but I'm having periods and spotting, and getting hormonal acne on my temples, neck and chest.

I took a double dose for just two days and I felt completely emotionally unstable, on the verge of tears and/or rage. Woke up after the first day of double dose and had about 5 new zits all full of pus. I don't know if it's the zits that are bringing back negative feelings about my problem skin as a teenager, or if it's the pill that is sending me loopy.

I also felt like my abdomen had been kicked about a bit and spent the night trying to sooth myself with a hot bottle.

Have other people seen side effects emerge this quickly? I'm going back to my regular dose because I can't deal with it.

Hi Tangerine 1990. Sorry to hear you are having bad experience with cerazette pills. I have been recently advised to change my pill too and to delay periods by taking pills for 6months continuously. Funny enough my doctor prescribed me cerazette too. I haven't begun taking them yet as I m on my periods.

But when you say double dose of cerazette does that mean two pills in a day? Are you even allowed? that would probably be giving you all the symptoms you are hereby going through...

I had my operation but the pains tend to return when I m on my periods 🥺

I think you did the right thing going back to your original pills.

Sorry late reply, holiday season and all. I hope you had a restful time over the holidays and new year.

Yes, two pills a day as advised by a gynaecologist! Never again doing that!

Thankfully been alright since :) I'm on a waiting list now for a lap

Hi . It took time for side effects to kick in with cerezette but my symptoms were worse and I get new ones. The pain wasn’t really an issue but it increased swelling, bloating, nausea, tearfulness, breast pains, sinus problems with hot and swollen face, gave me heartburn, Indigestion, spots, palpitations, greatly increased the wooziness, dizziness, sense of movement, fatigue, it didn’t do enough for the pain. All in all I was so much worse, like a zombie. It may work for some but in my case hormone treatment is worse then taking any meds other than painkillers. It doesn’t sort the Endo out just masks the symptoms . X

Sounds so awful! At the moment the only thing keeping me on cerazette is needing contraception and pure hatred of condoms... what we go through!
