I’m so sorry that you’re in this much pain. I hope it’s not too long before your appointments to find out what’s going on.

I’m not sure what you’ve tried but I’ll mention what I’ve tried in case it might be something that you or your doctors may not have thought of. Or it might give you some ideas on what you can ask for.

I’m on the combined pill back to back to stop my periods which has helped a good deal, I still get a lot of pain otherwise but can function most days because of this. Otherwise I’m on pregabalin (also known as lyrica) which helps with my pelvic floor, leg and hip pain - which I get because of amount of pain the endo pains left me in for 7 years before I was diagnosed it’s damaged nerves and muscles in the area. I also have naproxen and codeine for when the pain is bad and oral morphine for when it’s really really bad.

Alongside medication I have had physiotherapy specially for pelvic pain conditions which has been helpful so far.

I’ve heard diet changes to an anti-inflammatory diet are helpful but I’ve not tried this myself and other forms of contraceptive may be helpful to you instead as of course everyone is different. I hope you’re able to find something/a mixture of things that will work for you and that things go well with your doctors. X

Hi. New to this site myself. I am just on verge of finally been told it’s endometriosis as my symptoms are getting worse. It’s taken me 5 years to finally get answers and I am in agony I am off sick as unable to cope. My doctors gave me tramadol and the naproxen but neither is working. I use hot water bottle and heat blanket on my bed to try help. I am waiting pain management but told it’s 8 month waiting list and feel like no one is willing to help it’s knocking my depression down so much I have never felt more alone. So I know how you feel when no one is helping. Sorry I can’t be of help x

Hi,

I am really sorry about the pain you are going through. I totally understand as I have been through this as well. I am not sure what you have tried but I will share what I have done.

I was in severe pain and almost unable to function before I got diagnosed. Even after diagnosis, not much pain relief was offered me as I couldn't get on any contraceptives.

First thing is pelvic therapy. If your doctor cant refer you, go online and find one close to you. It is very important because your body and muscles have been through a lot and it would shock you how much pain you're having just from your muscles being tight and not relaxed..

For my heavy periods, I started using a herb called yarrow. I got an organic one from Romania and made it into teas for a week before my period and during. It made such a huge difference to my level of pain and bleeding.

I also drink red raspberry leaf tea as well.

I changed my diet to an anti-inflammatory nutrient dense diet with lots of kale, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, brussel sprouts, beet. Included avocados, olive oil, organic meats and salmon. I removed (as much as I could) gluten, dairy, alcohol, sugar.

I started monitoring my food and symptoms and learnt what flares up my pain and what is safe to eat.

I know it feels like a lot, but doing all these changed my life. Even before I had any surgery.

Message me if you want to talk through things or just want someone to join or help you on this journey.

Stay strong, this disease wont beat you!

Xxx
