Allergies!

One of the most debilitating symptom I experience, which is undoubtedly associated with my endometriosis, is recurring sever allergic rhinitis: sneezing intensely for around 6-7 hours then feeling completely exhausted. I have tracked this for years and it always occurs around ovulation or just before my period. Does anyone else experience this? It is so draining 😢🤧

Hi, I’m currently in the process of getting diagnosed I’ve just had a MRI scan which shows I have a Endometrioma on my left ovary and a cyst on my right ovary. I have suffered with Allergic Rhinitis for so many years and didn’t know that this could be related to endometriosis. What I have noticed before my cycle and ovulation is that I suffer terribly with my sinuses, chronic headaches with terrible earache and I’m exhausted too!! I feel your pain 😫😫

As if it’s not bad enough to suffer with terrible female problems! I’ve read quite a few things recently which suggest it’s one of the co-morbitities that those with endo are more likely to have statistically.

This is amazing to read as i thought i was going insane.I to have reaccuring rhinitis and itchy inner ears that seem to flair up and then go back down. I have never tried to see a pattern but will try and track when this happens x

Yes I get really bad itchy ears too! It is worth trying to see a pattern. I still have it but notice that it does seem to get worse around them days x

I too have that awful itchy, ears, nose and throat feeling and can often be heard making attractive throaty sounds just to scratch it! I also prod away with ear buds nearly every day (which I know I really shouldn’t) because it’s sooo satisfying! 😂

If you google the relationship between oestrogen and histamine production, it’s really interesting 🤔

Thank you I will do that now. So if my endometriosis is removed during laparoscopy does that mean it should also relieve my allergic rhinitis?

Wow, also suffer from rhinitis apparently and didn't think they could be linked..thought I was just unlucky.. For years I had to take beconase twice daily max dose to keep it manageable, however I've recently invested in a sinus rinse bottle after being advised. Initially used it daily and think it's helped and not pumping chemicals perminately up my nose. Forgot a couple of days and it came back with a vengeance so definately recommend investing it one.. weird sensation but worth it. X
