Hi ladies,

I recieved a surgery date earlier than expected and just recieved the letter. I am supposed to see a specialist for surgery as he was the consultant but on my letter from the hospital it says the consulting clinician is HUH MT OT 05 (gynaecology). I am now worried this means they didn't book me in with the specialist after all and tried to get me off the long wait list. Does anyone know what this means? Should I be phoning the hospital?

Hi, yeah I would ring and ask them, sometimes they put their second in command down but I would express your need to have it done by your gynaecologist that you've been dealing with. Trust me, my first operation was a disaster, I got a second in command and I felt so rubbish after the way they spoke to me before my op and after, not to mention they did nothing to help me. Ring up, ask and get some answers definitely, hope this helped. X

Yeah I completely get that, I got discharged twice to have to go back through all the channels and wait for what seems like forever. Really push for it. I usually end up crying in the consultation because I am either so frustrated or so upset with the pain and lack of help they are able to give.

I can't believe they discharged you! And going through it all again from the start would have driven me mad. I have definately cried and been there too. Hang in there!

It has gotten silly definitely. Well this past week has been a bad one, bleeding when I shouldn't be, even though I'm taken the pill, the pain has been excruciating that I haven't been able to stand up, and when I went to uni I ended up breaking down in pain. I have my gynaecologists secretaries email, so definitely emailing them to put this in my file. I had a pain diary for a while, then I got too frustrated with the fact I was writing the same thing down most days. Pain level 8 most days, 7 good days, bad days cannot describe, but it always feels like something is pulling/tearing and stabbing.

Definitely emailing the secretary and keeping her upto date so she can write it in my notes. Anything is worth a try these days.

Hang in there too. Xx

Awe I'm so sorry. Keep fighting for yourself! I have that same pulling pain and know how awful it is. And good to know someone else also mails the secretary to update them. Best of luck x
