Hi
I’ve been seeing my GP since May due to some issues such as bleeding after sex & pelvic pain.
Brief background- I’m 46 and was until July on the pill.off the pill I’ve always had horrific periods severe pain, vomiting, flooding & cystic acne so I went on the pill at 16 and have pretty much remained on it, it worked very well. I’ve also had 2 successful pregnancies. I have Hashimotos (maybe relevant)?
I had some tests and they showed my FSH was sky high and so I was told I was menopausal and to stop the pill and let my body do what it needed to! I did in July and had one period quite quickly and then didn’t have another till October and haven’t had one since. I have however had lots of pain and I’m breaking out in spots - at 46 this is devastating.
Doctor referred me for an ultrasound and result show several small fibroids & a retroverted uterus- both of these don’t seem a cause for concern, ( although the uterus thing answers a lot of questions)!
However it also says both of my ovaries are adhered to my uterus. But my doctor has the review the scan and said he doesn’t need to see me again?
Is that true? Is it normal for ovaries to be attached to uterus? If it is then ok but searching suggests otherwise.
Thanks for reading, all advice welcome x
