TENS machine for pain relief

Hi All!

I have tried using a TENS machine as I have been told they are good for relieving pain. When I used it it didn't feel right! Even on a low setting I was getting popping feelings in my pelvis and felt like my organs were moving! Is this normal?

Thanks in advance!

Hello

I had to play around with the different settings/intensity on mine to find one that I liked/worked. But friends have used it and like settings I don't. So unfortunately it does seem to be individual preferences. But it's also trial and error on the placement of the pads, I don't out it exactly where it hurts all the time sometimes I have to put it off centre or below it etc.

On some settings I did get some odd sensations, which is why I didn't like them. The one I now use after wearing it for 10mins I forget it's there. So if you have one with different options have a play around with them.

I hope you find one that works for you.

Thank you for your advise! The one I have has 10 settings and even on 1 alone it is causing pain and a sensation that my ovaries and surrounding organs are moving or sticking, maybe I am placing the pads in the wrong place? I have tried them on each side of my pelvis

Check the instructions on the leaflet that comes with it. Mine says it mustn't be put over your reproductive organs so I never stick it onto my pelvis, I stick the pads to my lower back and leg mostly. Also the settings as not actually different strengths/intensity but different types of sensation: pin pricks, massage, vibration etc. so don't worry you don't like no. 1. Some of mine feel like needles or my skin is being flicked which I dont like but on mine 4 and 5 suit me so I only use those.

Thanks for the advise! The one I have you can place there and can be used for period pains, it wasnt a sensation on the skin, every setting had my organs moving and making a popping feeling inside of my body. I've ended up being sent home from work as I'm getting hot flushes and can't walk (my whole leg has went dead with pain) and I'm giving up hope on anything to help the pain
