Lifting heavy objects with 10cm cyst

Evening all!

Was wondering, is there a weight limit I should be keeping too when lifting objects? I have a rather large cyst and i work in the restaurant industry. I am constantly lifting heaving boxes/plates etc and it causes me so much pain! Is there actually any information that says to stay away from lifting I can use for work? Finding it very difficult.

Hiya I suggest googling ‘An employers guide to managing Endometriosis at work’ which will bring up a pdf you can give to your employer.

Depending on whether they have HR you could go down the occupational health route, or you can informally ask that you don’t get given heavy things to lift (see ‘Ordinary flexible working request’ on p8-9 under ‘Duties’. Good luck!
