So I finally have my MRI booked tomorrow after years of trying to get someone to listen to me. My pain and symptoms comes the week before until after my peirod. I'm just worried that nothings going to show as I'm not in these times and I'll be back to square one. I'm really hoping to finally get a definitive diagnosis. Has anyone been in a similar situation and am I being silly!?

Whether or not you are on your period won't make any difference.
MRI is not a primary tool for endo diagnosis, it is most useful for assessing the extent of deep disease (and endometriomas which often accompany deep disease), in order to 'map' the pelvis prior to surgery for severe endo to guide the surgeons. The most usual form of peritoneal endo won't show.
NICE guideline:
1.5.1 Do not exclude the possibility of endometriosis if the abdominal or pelvic examination, ultrasound or MRI are normal. If clinical suspicion remains or symptoms persist, consider referral for further assessment and investigation.
MRI
1.5.6 Do not use pelvic MRI as the primary investigation to diagnose endometriosis in women with symptoms or signs suggestive of endometriosis.
1.5.7 Consider pelvic MRI to assess the extent of deep endometriosis involving the bowel, bladder or ureter.
1.5.8 Ensure that pelvic MRI scans are interpreted by a healthcare professional with specialist expertise in gynaecological imaging.
Hello I hope it goes well.
