So my gynaecologist has referred me to get a colonoscopy. Which is apparently common for people with endo?
I had my consultation today and the dr told me she will put me to sleep.
Can anyone tell me what to expect, what to take etc
I’m very anxious

I've had two laps for endo both with excision, one was specifically for endo on the outside of bowel. A colonoscopy hasn't been mentioned during consultations with my specialist, nor has it ever been suggested / said to be standard even when I needed to have a chat with the colorectal specialist assisting with the lap.
I would have thought it may be a good idea if suspected endo on the inside of the bowel. I'm not sure what they'd expect to find if they think it's just a normal procedure for endo. The lap is normal. I don't think you need to be under general anaesthetic for it unless they plan on doing quite a few different checks at the same time.
Is your specialist an endo specialist? do you have suspected endo in the bowel? ie. perhaps your symptoms match up thats why they want to do the colonoscopy. have you had a diagnostic lap to diagnose endo? did they think it's on the inside of the bowel?
I had a colposcopy - which sounds the same, and that's common with endo - they look at the cervix for abnormal cells.
