I had excision surgery in jan and pain is getting unbearable again 😩

Heya. I had excision surgery in jan which was my 1st surgery. I started getting pain again 2 weeks after and it’s got to the point where when I have a flare up it is unbearable. I have decided it is now time to go to my doctor to be referred again. I have been in denial not wanting to go back but it’s just getting worse 😢 is there any tips to help get referred back to gynaecologist? As I worry my doctor won’t take me seriously being so soon after 1st surgery 😩 any help would be greatly appreciated 💛💛💛

Hey, sorry you are struggling so much 😔 I had a laparoscopy (ablation) in January and then my symptoms got worse again after a few months and in August I was referred back to a different gynae (I requested a particular consultant). The GPs didn't seem to have an issue referring me again so hopefully it would be fine for you too. If you think you need to be seen again you just have to push to make it happen 😊

Hi hun, I think you should refer yourself to a BSGE centre rather a gynae specialist. With endo specialist centre they could look further into the surgery that was carried out in you and see where to go from there. It could be that the endo has come back. I had my first lap in august and was back on my feet by the 2nd week. My flare up is so minimal it's fantastic.

Yes you can ask to get referred back and shouldn’t be a problem. You won’t get to a bsge clinic unless you meet their criteria - severe endo or in certain places like have recto vaginal. You need someone with a special interest in endo if you have a diagnosis and don’t meet criteria. It’s a long journey with endo but keep fighting as you will get there.

I had the same issue after having a hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis. I had my Cervix removed. But because they did not remove my ovaries as I was only 28, my bowel started bleeding, with clots, which I still suffer from at: 64. All I can suggest is to stress to your Consultant and GP about your issues. Do not suffer in silence.
