Help after 6 months TTC

I had a lap in April for stage 4 endo & my surgeon advised (as we wanted to start a family) that we should start TTC immediately and if I hadn't fallen pregnant after 6 months to see him again. Our 6 months are now up and I have an appointment with him next week. I have no idea what to expect! Anyone who has been in a similar situation - what happened?
