Has anyone had Endo on POD that didn’t show up on an MRI? What are you symptoms also?

Pouch of douglas
I have endo on pod.
I never had an MRI scan so can’t comment on that I had mine diagnosed via a lap.
My main symptoms;
Heavy & painful periods ( beyond normal)
Pre period spotting 4 days before period,
Cramping & bleeding between periods,
Constipation & diarrhoea leading to period,
Painful pelvic examinations like agony & certain sex positions painful,
Unexplained infertility ( for 5 years 10 months till endo diagnosis in June 2017) happily I had my daughter last June after a long 7 year journey to conceive her.
Everyone symptoms will vary. Not all endo will show on a MRI scan you need a lap to confirm endometriosis.
Good luck xxx
Thank you. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago under general and after all this time, I have finally got a lap booked with a BSGE specialist for the end of October. I have a feeling it may be in the POD so just wanted to see if other people's systems were similar to mine. She did tell me that MRI's don's always show Endo so I was expecting that anyway. Congratulations on you baby girl after trying for all those years! That is lovely news xx
Yes, and it wont show on an mri. It only shows sometimes if its on the bowel x
Ah I see, do you have it on the POD? If so, what are your symptoms? x
Yes and the ligaments around it. My symptoms are chronic fatigue before ovulation and again before period. Extreme bloating, nausea, the constant need for a wee, feeling like im coming down with something. I do get pain flare ups but not so often now im gluten free. Im dairy free also as im allergic, if i have any ill get pain. Some months are worse than others but the pain is usually manageable these days. Im not on any birth controll or anything for it, i use castor oil packs and eat as well as i can. I do take ibuprofen, and im now having acupuncture and chinese massage. Its not cheap, but i can tell you its working for me so far. Ive had more energy and some of my symptoms have improved by following the advice my acupunctist gives me. Its really worth looking around in your area and seeing if you can afford it. Ive just cut back on everything so that i can have it x
I am always tired and it is more prominent during ovulation and period. I get pain when I use the toilet (both ways) and when I poo on my period it is all blood (sorry, TMI). Because of these bowel symptoms I had a colonoscopy but it was all clear, which is why I believe the Endo may be on the POD. I have heard Acupuncture is good for Endo but I am currently saving for a house so am already cutting payments down! I might look into it once we have the house next year though. I am going to try the Mirena Coil again which will be fitted during my op. The last time I had it, it only helped me for 8 months until all of my pain returned, but I guess another 8 months pain free is better than nothing! Thank you x
Hi.
I have on pod, ureters and rectum and uterus stuck together. I get mainly left side back and abdomen pain going down my leg, shooting rectal pain, diahorroa and constipation. My period is painful but over the last year has eased off a bit. My deep endo was seen on Mri but wasn't until Laparoscopy I was told pod was obliterated.
Yes I had diagnosed via laparoscopy with Nook surgeon and had it excised during secon lap. Had fist lap with general gyno who never mentioned it to me just send me for MRI which was inconclusive. My symptoms were occasional pain in rectum, constipation leading to piles, lower back pain.
I think the symptoms can be different as it's depence how dip infiltration of endo
Mine showed up on the MRI as being in the POD and other areas. I get really bad tailbone pain, pain and urgency when going to the toilet, sciatic type pain down leg and obviously all the other horrible symptoms associated with periods and endo. The pain starts 5 days before period, during period and also mid cycle. I had the endo excised from POD 5 weeks ago and I’ve been taking the pill since as I didn’t like the Mirena. I’m waiting to see if the pain flares up again. It’s been minimal since the surgery. Hope your surgery goes well x
I have it too in my pod as well as elsewhere. It didn't show on MRI but was embedded quite deep supposedly.
Symptoms I think related to pod was the sensation if having an egg shoved up my bum. During periods I'd have sharp stabbing pains around my rectum too.
Hope you can get it removed xx always ask for it to be cut out, not burned!!
Hi I didn't have an MRI but had a diagnostic lap 2 weeks ago. Mine was mainly in my POD and elsewhere. I get shooting rectal pains, constipation, bloating, trapped wind and urinary frequency. Most of my pain is lower left abdo as it was apparently on my Fallopian Tube/ovary.
Hello! I had stage 4 Endo on POD (obliterated). Dr. is convinced it was removed. My lap was 2 months ago. My Endo never showed up on any exam. It is hard to pin point exactly what symptoms were associated with the POD, since it was also found on the ovaries, uterus, appendix (removed), pelvic walls, pelvic floor and rectum. I have read that POD Endo tends to cause painful sex, this however was not my case. There was one sexual position I could not do and that is it. I did not have painful depositions either. Once in awhile I would feel pain in my coccyx. I would have constipation, diarrhea, severe bloating and abdomen pain. I had cronic sciatic pain. Cramps could be debilitating and very heavy, with large clots.
Post Lap has been much better, I am still recuperating from the surgery, so it's too soon to comment on the permanent outcomes. I am confident my quality of life will improve. I certainly hope the same for you! I wish you the best!
With kindness
Margarita
Hi, I had a clear MRI scan before I had my laparoscopy. I was so worried they wouldn't find anything before, because of clear MRI. But when I had the surgery they found endo on my POD and uterosacral ligaments. I have constant pain in my pelvic area, back and legs. Very bad period and ovulation pain. 9 to 11 day periods. Pain that gets worse for a week before period.
I'm only two weeks post surgery, so unsure as to results yet, but I am cautiously optimistic, that it may be less now!
Hope you find relief!
