pouch of douglas

Hello Peppermints,Hope you are doing ok.
I had stage 4 rectovaginal endo on my pouch of douglas, rectum and ureters. When I say did, I had surgery 2021. Felt great until January this year and feeling pain coming back. I have throbbing pain up my back passage, pain sitting down, a burning pain between front and back(suspect this is where the pod sitting), chronic constipation and painful gas and bloating. I did have sciatic pain but that seems to have stayed away thankfully. Back on the list again for another consultation with my specialist. I didn't even know what the pouch of douglas was until I did my own research. Hope this helps 😘x
My consultant referred to my Pouch of Douglas as 'obliterated' in my surgical notes from last surgery. My uterus was stuck to my rectum and tilting backwards. It made bowel movements a lot more painful, especially around my period.
Stupidly I had it all separated and now it's stuck itself back together with scar tissue. Bowel not as bad though I guess.
This will depend on the stage of endo there which can be anything from minimal/mild (stage 1/2) to severe stage 4.
Yes and it's so painful.I had a laparoscopy back in february this year and surgeon had to unstick my uterus from my colon. He said he had to leave some of the tissue in my pouch of douglas as it was to tricky to move.
Since then the pain has got a whole lot worse.
I'm now booked to have a private scan and consultation later this month.
It feels like a constant pressure between my legs which turns to stabbing the closer i get to my period.
