I take a mood stabiliser daily due to mental health issues, and I am scared to take anything that’s going to mess with my
Moods eg contraceptive pill. My consultant has told me the mirena coil is less intrusive as the hormones from the pill have to go through your blood stream first? Does anyone have any experience or know anything about this? I had my lap done 3 weeks ago and was told to go and arrange to have mirena coil and monthly injections to start early menopause? Help

I had a bad experience with the hormonal contraception pills and others like the nexplanon, my body was not accepting these hormones.
My gynae adviced me to try the mirena and I had it about one month ago, I can tell you it has no side effects for me (no mood swings) just some cramps at the first days of fitting and that's it.
Hope I could help you with my experience and hope that the coil will work with you as well.
