Can anyone recommend any books on endometriosis and how to deal with it and any diets to follow or avoid?

Hi!

For me these two books were an eye opener:

amazon.com/Heal-Endometrios...

amazon.com/Doctor-Will-See-...

The title of the first book gives women false hope. The diet and supplements might work in mild cases, for me excision surgery, chinese medicine, therapy and CBD were able to lessen the pain. Diet helps tremendously, but for me it did not make a difference, I still passed out on the floor on the first day of my period.

Good luck finding the proper doc and treatment! 💛

Please please stay away from the top one, it is self published and has very little medical knowledge what she says is useful but it is covered in a lot of other books that have been written by medically trained nutritionists. She also tries to get you to sign up to a programme which will cost you more money on top of all the diet changes, supplements etc . The best book I have purchased and I take it with me everywhere is - wildnutrition.com/products/.... It is a really good starting point and explains everything very clearly. Don’t waste your money with self published books! Also if I had stuck to the advice of heal endometriosis I would be in a very dangerous position, my partner made me see sense thankfully. X

The Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden has been really useful for me. Read it from cover to cover rather than just the chapter on endo, there's loads of info in there xx

There was an 'Endometriosis for Dummies' book! It is still available online from 'You know who', but it is dated, as it was published in 2006. However, I was told by someone I trust that it was good, but dated, and what little I flicked through - briefly, on-line - looked okay. However I don't know, for sure, in detail.

Surely there must be something up-to-date, honest, truthful and not just 'fast buck based' out there???

Hello! I hope that you are doing well! The book I’m going to recommend isn’t strictly about endometriosis but about pelvic floor pain which often overlaps with endometriosis and makes the symptoms worse. My doctor recommended is healing pelvic pain by Amy Stein. It’s a book that gives you simple and exercises and stretches to do that should help relax the pelvic floor and relieve pain.
